Liviu Bulea is a Romanian artist, curator, and cultural manager whose work moves between art, activism, and memory. His practice explores how collective stories shape, and are shaped by, the spaces we live in. Rooted in personal history and social research, Liviu reclaims forgotten objects, overlooked places, and marginalized voices, reimagining them through photography, video, text, and installation.

A cancer diagnosis in his youth sparked a deep investigation into the toxic legacy of industrialization in his hometown, Turda, a turning point that shaped his commitment to socially engaged art. Today, his work addresses environmental injustice, queer identity, and the politics of visibility.

SUBTERRANEA. AN URBAN CARTOGRAPHY

12 FEBRUARY – 21 MARCH, 2026

Subterranea explores the city as a layered psychological landscape. Through photography, cyanotypes, and material interventions, Liviu Bulea maps the invisible tensions between architecture, memory, and the human psyche. Urban space becomes both subject and canvas, revealing fragile negotiations between interior and exterior worlds, order and disarray, past and present.

What Remains is What We Don’t See

 February 27 – April 9, 2026

This exhibition brings together the works of these three photographers, each transforming photography into a language of introspection, memory, and timeless exploration. While their practices are rooted in different geographies and visual vocabularies, they share a common impulse: to look beyond the surface and reveal the layered realities that shape human experience.
